Meet Your Trainer

Danielle Long is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Certified Personal Trainer with a passion for helping individuals improve both their mental and physical well-being. Danielle brings a unique perspective to her work by approaching strength training from a trauma-informed lens.

As a single mother to a teenage son, Danielle understands the challenges of balancing personal goals, family responsibilities, and self-care. Her own fitness journey began more than a decade ago with weightlifting. Like many people, she experienced periods of inconsistency and spent years away from the gym before rediscovering her passion for strength training. Since returning to lifting, she has enjoyed achieving significant personal records, building muscle, and experiencing firsthand the transformative impact that consistent exercise can have on both physical and mental health.

Outside of the gym, Danielle enjoys staying active through line dancing and kayaking while also spending time at the beach during Vermont's summer months. She values meaningful connections with friends, loves attending live music events, and believes that having fun and enjoying life are important parts of overall wellness. Whether she's pursuing a new fitness goal or relaxing outdoors, Danielle embraces a balanced approach to health that she encourages her clients to cultivate as well.

My GLP-1 Story

For a long time, I believed that if I just had more willpower, more discipline, or tried one more diet, I would finally see the results I wanted.

About 8 years ago, I worked with a personal trainer and lost 30 pounds. I felt strong, proud, and finally like I had figured things out. But about a year later, the weight slowly started creeping back on… even though none of my exercise or nutrition habits had changed.

So I blamed myself. I told myself I wasn’t doing enough, I can’t allow myself to enjoy a treat every now and then or it’ll cost me. I spent so much money on products that never delivered the results they promised, just trying to find an answer.

Over the next 8 years, I tried everything.

CrossFit. Working with personal trainers. Boxing. Meeting with dietitians. Blood work. Metabolic testing.

Despite all of it, I couldn’t lose a single pound.

I felt frustrated, confused, and honestly… stuck. There were moments I would cry thinking about the possibility that this was just the weight my body would stay at forever — a weight that didn’t feel good physically or mentally.

So in May 2025, I decided to start a GLP-1 medication.

As someone who works in both mental health and fitness, I had to work through a lot of my own thoughts and beliefs about what that meant.

But since then, I’ve lost 60 pounds.

My cholesterol and A1C levels have improved. I move better. I have more energy and motivation. I feel happier, and my confidence and self-esteem have grown in ways I didn’t expect.

In the gym, I’m reaching goals that I’ve never been able to reach before.

Here’s what I’ve realized:

Taking care of your health doesn’t have to fit into someone else’s definition of “doing it the right way.” It’s about finding the ways that work for you.

For me, this isn’t about taking an easy way out.

This medication didn’t replace the work — it finally gave my body the support it needed for the work to actually work.

GLP-1 has been a tool. One that has helped me reconnect with my body, my strength, and my confidence.

If you’re on your own health journey and feeling stuck, I see you. There is no single “right way” to take care of your health. What matters is finding the tools and support that help you feel better in your body and your life.

Progress looks different for everyone, and every step toward better health counts.
